Military Notes:

He was rescued from Dunkirk in 1940, then served in Malta for 3 years during the siege of Malta. He was being transferred on a troop ship HMS Eclipse when it ran in to a chain mine striking two mines off Kalimnos enroute from Alexandria Egypt to the Greek Island of Leros. He is commemorated with his 133 comrades lost at sea in the tragedy plus 119 ships crew.
