John Halke's ancestors are in Hastingleigh back to the 1400s. They occupied the SOUTH HILL estate,
and John Halke was a churchwarden at Hastingleigh Church. He & his wife were buried under the brass plaque
on the church floor.

(NB: This is not  this website's  owner's research, therefore I cannot vouch for the accuracy, but it sounds credible,

and given that descendants of John and Amie are still living in and around Hastingleigh, this Royal connection could be true..)
