Children's Road Safety Teams Knew Most Of The Answers

So good were the answers given to road safety questions by young members of Hastingleigh and Elmsted and of Stanford Look-out Clubs in a quiz, that
neither side lost a mark until the last round.
All the children were aged under 11 years and Hastingleigh with 60 points were winners, only 5 points aheaqd of their rivals.
The judge was Mr. H. J. Nancollas, headmaster of Bodsham Primary School, Mrs Herbert (Weald Road Safety Organiser) was questionmaster and
Mr L Codgebrook timekeeper.
Tea was provided by the local Women's Institute.

Teams were:
Hastingleigh (representing Weald Road Safety Committee) Robin Helmer, Pat Griggs, John Argar, Valerie Gower, Gordon Sherratt and Keith Barden.

Stanford (representing Elham Road Safety Committee) John collier, Colin Patner, Jill Grisson, Ruby Prince, Jennifer Griggs and John Boradfield.
